Buy air ticket on expedia review

Something as critical as the bathroom should be mentioned in a post clearly and directly. When I booked and arrived at the hotel I was surprised that this was a room with a shared bathroom. I checked the publication 10 times and couldn't find it.

I tried to contact Expedia support which was no help, their reservation identifier asks for 15 numbers, it doesn't detect it and they never refer you to a human. So be it attention in Spanish and English.

Now on a laptop, in the see more details section this appears, indicating as the fourth option the most critical:

I recently made a reservation for a hotel

I recently made a reservation for a hotel in MX and subsequently cancelled. I was supposedly, according to Expedia, informed that the reservation of $4000 was non-refundable. But regardless, the right thing to do would be to credit the amount which Expedia refused to do. I must pay the full amount for a hotel stay I never used.

I will never use them again. Avoid this company!

What's the point of Expedia?

I don't understand the point of expedia. I paid double the standard price for a ticket that i cannot cancel and has no baggage allowance. So i ended up paying 6000 baht for a flight that should cost half that much if you book it directly with the airline. I will never use Expedia again and i recommend everyone stay away.

Changeable Booking was really NOT Changeable

I paid approximately $150-200 extra on Expedia to have a return/changeable flight.

When I went online today, I learned that the booked airline, Lufthansa's policies for the ticket booked, is that it is NOT changeable.

When I reached back to Expedia customer service, they informed me [politely] that there was nothing they could do. I suggested two resolutions: Get me a similar flight home a day earlier or refund me the difference I spent on Economy Standard vs. the lesser amount that I would have spent on Economy Light for the same lack of flexibility. The rep told me she could do nothing.

Very, very, disappointed. I'll take future business elsewhere, as I have extensive future travel.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. Expedia customer service agent lied to me several times on a recorded line. Gave me wrong information, when I tried to escalate it, she told me “there are no supervisors.” Then she gave me the wrong last name, when I said I want to submit feedback about her specifically. Her first initial is M. SANCHEZTULIA. Terrible. Over 1.5 hours on phone and not they are trying to charge me late fees for their incompetence because they wasted so much time!

Good experience

I had a good experience all the way around! I stayed at the Days Inn & Suites in Kokomo,Indiana. I was very pleased with the staff everyone was friendly & helpful. My room was clean & I like how they have built in plug ins for your phone/laptop charger. Tv had a good amount of channels. Breakfast was good, & this is the 1st place to carry my favorite drink in their vending machines! Will definitely return.

Expedia - Never Again

I made my booking via Expedia. I was not even aware that the reservation is made with VRBO. I wanted to contact the property and agent from VRBO provided me a phone number. When I contacted the phone number, they had no idea it was a random person. I contacted VRBO again and they told me that all is goo I just need to go. 6 hours before the trip I contacted VRBO again. The agent contacted the property again same as the 2 previous agents. This agent actually tried to help and got the same response from the property that they have no idea what is going on. Instead of resolving my issue they wanted me to write them an email. I have 6 hours to sleep before I start my 8 hours driving trip and I need to deal with customer care who is unable to resolve my issue.

I reported the issue 3 times based on my experience on working in the travel sector but I guess they have incompetent people working there who don’t care about the customers. Again the last agent who pick up the call understood the gravity of the situation and did something to move the things forward!

All in all - not good trained agents - no common sense - how can u make business out of not checked properties - how can Expedia work with this kind of agency - this is a joke - never again Expedia - never again VRBO

Have been trying to change my infant’s…

Have been trying to change my infant’s name on our flight because she was not born during the time of booking. I’m about 3 weeks in, about 15 phone calls and as many hours later still without an answer and my flight is in 2 days. WTH Expedia!

Expedia do not reimburse any charge

I rent a car and paid in advance, howerve when I went to Alamo they didnt accept my licence and then I went to Avis and the accepted this. I paid in advance and never have gotten the reimbursement. Expedia do not respond for any vendors issue. I suggest to avoid the Expedia intermediation and buy directly.

Cancellation policy.

This company can improve by starting a credit line or something. I may honest mistake of reserving a hotel but the dates changed because I click back button and then forward to check other data. When I submitted the reservation, I noticed within minutes that it had the wrong date. The hotel said they can't do it, and expedia said they can't do it also. It was request done minutes after I just submitted, and they did have availability. I don't know why in this case they couldn't help me WITHOUT REFUND. I never ask for a refund. Just help me with the dates. Let me be clear that I was unaware that changing dates is Part of cancellation policy.

I booked a trip for Christmas

I booked a trip for Christmas. Unfortunately there was a death in the family. I spent several hours on the phone trying to reschedule the trip. The customer service was terrible. The first person tried to get me not to rearrange my trip. Over 20 times the service agent told me I was going to loose money on the return flight. When I asked for a supervisor, he was condescending at best. I have never been talked to like a sub human after a family member passed. They would not listen to anything I have to say. I was even blamed for not reading emails that I could not receive due to their inability to input information correctly. My passengers name was spelt wrong and I could not get the appropriate paperwork to correct the name. I will never use this service again. My first attempt with them was such an awful experience, I would highly recommend not using them period. Here is the time frame. 3 calls to Expedia after having to search the internet. 20 minutes to go thru the automated system that kicked me out 2 times. Then talking to a person who I could barely understand. After repeated attempts to tell me “just to go” I explained I could not. I asked for a supervisor, which I don’t think I really got. But I was on hold for 25 minutes. I was then told that the hotel will only take emails that could take up to 72 hours for a response. This was for me to see if I could reschedule for two months later. Even though there is a cancelation grantee I will lose everything that I spent. As you may see I am not happy at all with the service. If I could give a negative star score I would definitely do so !!!!!!

Travelled several times and always horrible customer service and no help

I travelled several times with Expedia flights, hotels, car rentals etc. Every time I have an issue they are totally useless or you have to spend hours on the phone which is difficult if you are traveling of course. I use Skype if I don’t have a local number or chat because they won’t even have a collect number. I spent hours with them trying to fix my issues. I really don’t know why I keep coming back to them. But this will be the last time. Their customer service is horrendous and they’ll never fix any issues. I always end up quitting.

Find a travel agent that replies to emails.

I was supposed to fly from the UK to Israel in October 2023. Because of the war, the UK government advised against all but essential travel to the country. I messaged Expedia to cancel my flight. I want to know if I'm entitled to a refund. I've emailed Expedia countless times but have heard nothing from them other than "we've sent your query to the flights department".

Expedia was absolutely awful

Expedia was absolutely awful. I booked a hotel through their site. I tried to change dates, but they refused to change them without a fee based on "hotel policy." I spoke to the hotel and they said their policy is a refund within 72 hours of a person's arrival. I relayed this information to Expedia, who still refused to refund the amounts paid for the wrong dates. I spent almost an hour arguing with several different Expedia agents about the "hotel policy." I had to raise my concerns with the hotel once again, who went back to Expedia and got me the refund. To make matters worse, when I booked through the hotel directly, the rate was actually cheaper. Why would I even bother to go to the middleman [Expedia], who are terrible about refunds, refuse to work with you, and charge a higher fee for the same hotel rooms. There is no apparent benefit to using this website. I know I will never use them again.

Expedia has the worst customer service

Expedia has the worst customer service. Called them numerous times about a cruise I last minute booked. I should have never booked through expedia. They are a bunch of jokes. Just book your things through another site.

All I hear is the music of them transferring you while you wait. Its completely absurd their customer service offshore team knows nothing. Worst company EVER will never use them for anything in the future.

They will not help you get your money…

They will not help you get your money back if there are issues with car rental places. They do business with typical bait and switch, then when you go to pick up rental they won’t release the car to you because they need ur entire car insurance document when liability is all they really need to see. Don’t bother to contest it with Expedia as they do not advocate for the customers and don’t do anything about it when the car rental place has zero customer service and the they are literally abusive to you. They will not refund you your money and they will challenge the credit card company as wel and they won’t have your back either. This site has turned into a SCAM go for name brand car companies only! Priceless car rentals should be removed from Expedia they are crooks!

Very poor service …

I’ve booked several up and coming trips worldwide through Expedia and when I log onto my Expedia app and search trips there is only 2 bookings showing instead of 10 The site is supposed to show your bookings on a finger tips touch I’ve sent several very negative surveys to them they of course state all may not be answered I think it should read none will be read!!! You book it’s accepted then they say oops something gone wrong our end 3 months I’ve waited for this to be actioned!!

Attention, scammers!!!!!!

The most crooked company, please avoid those lizards! They will never refund you anything, will keep you waiting for long time, and after you just don't want any refund back. The support is just "marvelous", they don't know anything about your case or about your status, litteraly anyone can answer your call or chats and new person is more "genius" as previous.!!!!
