So i ordered a 2022 few months ago and it was expected to arrive this fall, dealership called me and was told its gonna 2023 now as they stopped producing the 2022, now I asked the delear how long im gonna wait he told me that itll be the same time this fall, is the delear being honest here or shouls i just not keep my hopes up.
And with the change to 2023 would that give me a leverage to pull out my deposit as I have a non refundable deposit and just try other delears with available cars in the inventory.
Hey Mazda folks. I figured this would be a great place to ask. I currently own a 2019 mazda cx3 sport and want to trade it in for a cx5 but idk if I should wait until the 2023 model is available or just get a 2022 off the lot. I know with the market right now I can get a pretty penny for my cx3.
Anyone aware of any updates that are worth waiting for?
UPDATE: I went with a 2022 Mazda cx5 turbo signature in soul red. Should be getting it tomorrow! I'll post pics here. 🥳🥰😍🤩
Shop around for sure for a dealer that does MSRP at the very least with maybe a small add-on with useful items like all weather pats, cargo cover/liner, etc. The paint protection is just fancy wax and usually isn't even applied correctly [family used to work in the auto industry]. They'll claim it's 'ceramic.' and upsell a huge amount.
For reference., I was able to get a '22 Premium Plus for $38K OTD [Machine Grey [$595] with an additional ~$500 added for all-weather mats and side rails]. This is in Northern California.
Premium or Premium Plus? Premium adds Mi-Drive select and led headlights [drl], led tail lights and the adaptive front headlights. Depending on where you live, the heated mirrors may be helpful as well.
Premium Plus, comes with the Bose speaker system and power lift gate, power folding mirrors, wiper de-icer, and heated rear seats, heads up display, and Nav/SiriusXM, and ventilated front seats [cooling in addition to the heated from seats].
No noticeable tweaks, but I’m no CX-5 expert. As mentioned, no power lift gate, and I was told that was due to the chip shortage, and that they didn’t want to continue holding production. No Bose, but I’m good with that bc I’m having a system installed anyways. Also, looking forward to getting roof rails installed!
I don't get everyone saying the cx-5 will phase out. Isn't it their best selling car? Why on earth would they drop it?
The CX-50 is a completely different car that I wouldn't care for purchasing. I've owned 3 CX-5s, 2018 GT, 2021 GT, and 2022 premium plus. I would be happy to purchase a new one in a few years.
Not the CX-50 though. I didn't like it at all in comparison. I didn't even give the CX-50 a second thought once I got up close and personal. As I've seen in my area, while the CX-50 is getting some sales it's still far outpaced by the CX-5 for good reason. The CX-50 is tailored to a more select clientele and not for everyone like the CX-5.

I think the thing now with the 2023s is that these options are only available on the Premium Plus. In 2022 they were available on the Premium, then shortage meant people got credits for the two features, now they've been removed from Premium.

I'm curious about this also. I just orderd the car 2 weeks ago here in Finland and the dealer didn't tell me anything about this Bose shortage.
The car should come in March so maybe it will not affect me.

I got my ‘23 PP a couple weeks ago and haven’t noticed anything different [aside from the “new” white color which doesn’t really look much different to me haha]. Was really hoping they would sneak in things like wireless CarPlay, CarPlay navigation directions in HUD, wireless charging, etc. but nope! Maybe someday…..

Nothing new compared to the 2022 model [other than the new white color ] But the premium PLUS does have the Bose speakers & rear power lift gate
