The Forbes World Billionaires List 2022 has just been released showing that, with the increasing number of billionaires, the total assets of Vietnamese billionaires in 2022 will reach $21.2 billion, the highest ever.

Leading the list in Vietnam is still Vingroup’s Chairman, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, although his assets have decreased by 1.1 billion USD in this year’s ranking. Vuong is also the only Vietnamese in the group of 500 richest people in the world.

With a total asset of $6.2 billion, Pham Nhat Vuong ranked 411th, down 67 places in Forbes’ 2022 list of world billionaires. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in the US, VinFast announced its vision to become a 100% electric car company by the end of this year.

By the end of 2021, VinFast has handed over about 72,000 petrol cars to customers. In Vietnam, VinFast plans to build 150,000 charging ports with 3,000 charging stations. In the US, at the end of March 2022, VinFast started building an electric vehicle battery factory with an investment of 4 billion USD.

Vuong is the first billionaire in Vietnam to be recognized by Forbes for the first time in 2013 with a net worth of 1.7 billion USD. He is always on the list of the world’s billionaires and the richest people in Vietnam.

The next richest people in Vietnam on Forbes’ list of world billionaires include Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group, who ranked 951st with a total asset value of 3.2 billion USD.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, CEO of Vietjet, with total assets of about $3.1 billion, ranks 984th.

Ho Hung Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), has a total asset value of about 2.3 billion USD, ranked 1,341 in the list of world billionaires 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan, has a total asset value of $ 1.9 billion, ranked 1,579. Mr. Tran Ba ​​Duong, Chairman of THACO’s Board of Directors, has a net worth of about 1.6 billion USD, ranking 1,818th.

Notably, in this year’s list, there is one more Vietnamese billionaire to the newly announced world billionaire list, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Novagroup. Mr. Nhon has a total asset value of $2.9 billion, ranked 1,053 and is the latest face in the list of the richest people in Vietnam named in this year’s list of world billionaires.

Pham Nhat Vuong in top 300 of Forbes rich list

VOV.VN  -Pham Nhat Vuong, owner of real estate conglomerate Vingroup and Vietnam's first billionaire, has earned a place on the list of the world's richest people as compiled by Forbes magazine.

The magazine ranks him in 296th place with a net worth of US$6.1 billion.

Vuong is placed behind three foreign billionaires, including Acharya Balkrishna (India), Wei Jianjun (China), and Yao Liangsong (China), who are all of equal wealth to him.

According to Forbes, Pham Nhat Vuong studied in Russia and started a popular instant noodle business in Ukraine in the 1990s before moving back to his home country.

“He turned some investments into non-profit ventures, including some in healthcare, education and sports. He also built a center of contemporary art,” says the magazine.

Vuong is the chairman of Vingroup, one of Vietnam's largest conglomerates with interests in real estate, retail, and healthcare, among others.
