Honda's popular midsize sedan, the Accord, will soon receive its next-generation update. Its new model will break cover sometime during November this year. However, ahead of this, Honda has just dropped the first teasers of this upcoming sedan. And as teasers go, they only reveal a little but give a lot to chew on.
The 2023 Accord will adopt the design elements of newer Honda models, such as the 2022 Civic and the 2023 CR-V. This means a sleeker design on the outside with a cleaner interior layout. Powertrains are likely to remain the same, but Honda is promising a more powerful hybrid model.

The new one will have a different design, but will evolve from the existing model. The teasers reveal a sleeker nose for the 2023 model year with sharper headlamps and a bigger grille. The hood has subtle creases, while the front bumper remains clean and simple.
The rear of the new Accord is entirely different from the existing model. The taillights now stretch across the entire width of the boot lid. These are connected to each other by a thin strip save for in the middle, where they make room for the Honda logo. In addition, the boot lid gets a notable lip spoiler, while the rear bumper also has a simple and clean design.
More details about the overall design of the new Accord will be revealed closer to its debut. However, it is clear that for its 11th generation, Honda's midsize sedan will be a gentle evolution of the current model rather than a huge departure from it.

This unit comes with a Continuously Variable Transmission and produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid models of this sedan come with a 2.0-liter, Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. The combined system output of this setup is 212 horsepower.
However, the cream of the lot is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit produces an impressive 250 horsepower with 273 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is known to deliver excellent off-the-line acceleration. As a result, this engine has been the go-to choice for many Accord owners.
Specific details about the powertrain line-up of the 2023 Accord are still relatively scarce. However, Honda says the new model will have "a more responsive and fun-to-drive hybrid powertrain." In addition, we have seen a shift towards a more hybrid-centric line-up in the brand's newer models. Known as Honda Sensing, this suite consists of safety tech such as automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition. It also includes rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.
