  2. Dell Vostro 3400 and 3401
  3. Asus Vivobook 14 and 15
  4. Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3
  5. Acer Aspire 5

1. HP 14 and 15

Although the HP 14 and 15 range of laptops exceeds the budget of Rs. 40,000, they are worth spending some additional bucks. One of the HP 14 and 15 laptops main highlights is their sleek, compact design coupled with excellent specifications. These HP laptops are a perfect choice for working professionals who want a laptop for their day-to-day work requirements and students who want a laptop for their online classes or preparing assignments. These laptops have something to offer to everyone.

One of the unique points of these HP 14 and 15 laptops is their versatility. If you want decent performance at an affordable price range, you can opt for the AMD variant, or you can opt for the Intel variant if you want it. If you want a compact size, you can opt for the variant with a 14-inch screen, or if you want a larger viewing area and a dedicated numeric pad, you can opt for the 15-inch variants. If you want fast processing and storage and can compromise on the storage size, you can opt for the variants with an SSD drive, and else you can go with the variant with an HDD drive. You always have the option of choosing a laptop that suits your needs the best.

Lets talk about the performance first. The HP 14 and 15 laptops is one of those few laptops in this segment that offer an Intel 11th-gen i3 processor or an AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor. Regardless of which variant you choose, you will get optimum performance on both of them, and regular tasks would not be an issue. You can easily attend your online classes or meetings, watch YouTube or Netflix, edit documents, and even run programming codes without any problems. If you are a casual gamer, you can easily run non-demanding games like FIFA on lower settings.

All these laptops offer additional slots for both RAM and Storage if the need arises in the future. You can add an additional 8 GB RAM if you feel the need for the same. The laptop arrives with Windows 10 Home pre-loaded with lifetime validity and Microsoft Office 2019 Home and Student. The screen used in these laptops is high-quality screens with decent brightness levels and an above-average screen-to-display ratio.

The laptop is powered by a 41Wh battery that can easily provide you with 5-6 hours of battery backup on regular use. The laptops are not that heavy, and you can easily carry them around on your back. Now it is worth noting that because its a budget laptop, there are some essential features that are missing. For example, you do not get a dedicated graphics card, nor do you get a backlit keyboard. But for just a tad over 40,000, it is not something of a deal-breaker.

Overall, the HP 14 and HP 15 are easily one of the best laptops if you are willing to shed a couple of thousand extra.

2. Dell Vostro 3400 and 3401

The Dell Vostro 3400 is my second choice on the list of best laptops under 40000 Rs. Dell is one of the most trusted brands in the country when it comes to laptops, and they are known for the solid build and quality they offer at an attractive price point. The Dell Vostro 14 and 15 is easily one of the most robust laptops in this segment, and its a perfect value for money laptop. Although the specifications are not the best in this segment, you can be sure that the product you get is the best when it comes to quality.

The Dell Vostro laptops are powered by 11th-gen Intel Core i3 processors, one of the most powerful chipsets offered in laptops in this price segment. Like the HP 14 and 15 laptops, the Dell Vostro laptops are also offered in multiple variants, each of them having different specifications. You can either opt for the AMD Ryzen or Intel processors depending on your needs, and you also have the option of selecting between SSD or HDD storage.

The Dell Vostro Series laptops are powered by 10th Gen and 11th Gen Intel Core i3 processors and an AMD Ryzen 3 processor. All these processors are fairly powerful in their own aspects, and they will get you through your regular day-to-day work with ease. These processors have a maximum clock speed of up to 4.1 GHz, which comes in handy during those occasional demanding tasks. Just make sure that the air vents of the laptops are not blocked for proper passage of air and heat disposal. Thanks to 8 GB RAM, you can open multiple applications or tabs in your browser simultaneously without any troubles.

The Dell Vostro Series laptops feature a 14-inch FHD screen with an Anti-Glare coating on top. Although the screen is of good quality, the screen to display ratio is not that great, thanks to the massive chin on the bottom. The Vostro series is one of the richest laptops in terms of ports, and there are no complaints in that aspect. The laptop runs on Windows 10 Home out of the box, and you might get the option to update to Windows 11.

One of the best parts of buying this laptop is the fact that you get several options to upgrade your laptop in the future. You get an additional slot for upgrading your RAM as well as the internal storage. It might come in handy in the future if the need arises for the same.

Overall, the Dell Vostro Series is an excellent laptop for you if you are looking for a laptop with decent specifications, and you can compromise a bit on the looks.

  • Best Smartphones Under 15000
  • Best Earphones Under 1000 Rs

What you should know before buying a laptop with a budget of Rs. 40000.

  • 40000 Rs budget is most popular among Indian buyers. You can easily get decent and powerful laptops for casual use, office work, Study use, and even casual and moderate gaming at this price range.
  • But keep in mind, If you planning to play the latest AAA title games with a good frame rate or perform heavy video editing or animation types other heavy graphics-related tasks, then I suggest upgrading your budget at least up to 50000 Rs.
  • The best processor that you can get under 40000 Rs Ryzen 5 3d gen > Intel i3 11th gen > Ryzen 3 3d gen => Intel i3 10th gen.
  • Make it simple Go with Ryzen 5, if you want a laptop for casual gaming, heavy multitasking use, or graphics-related task. The Ryzen 3 3d gen is more than enough for your daily use [study-related, daily office use, even handle moderate gaming].
  • Intel i3 11th gen is the new entry in the market, It offers 20% higher performance than the previous gen. Also, the performance is very near to the Ryzen 5 3d gen, So if the gaming is not on your list then Intel i3 11th gen is definitely the best choice instead of the Ryzen 3 & 5 3d gen.
  • A dedicated GPU in this price range is not possible, so you need to settle with an integrated GPU. You have Ryzen 5 with vega 8 combo at this price point, which is really powerful than some entry-level Nvidia GPU. It can easily handle some AAA title games at low and medium settings [Like GTA 5, PUBG, CS GO, and Valorant].
  • There are a few laptops in this price range that come with 8GB RAM but most of the laptops have 4GB RAM. For multitasking use and batter speed, you definitely need at least 8GB RAM, so always keep eye on expandable RAM.
  • Most of the laptops in this price range come with a 1TB HDD drive. There are some laptops, which have SSD, so you can buy them, or install SSD aftermarket. We always select those laptops in this list that have an easy SSD upgrade option.
