Who will fall victim to the Wall of Champions?

Racing has returned with aplomb to Montreal and in 2023, demand for Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets is set to be unprecedented. Fans flocked to the grandstands to witness the action last time out, and were treated to an epic tussle between Carlos Sainz and victor Max Verstappen.

And they’re not the first pair to battle on the streets of the Parc Jean-Drapeau. The track has been on the calendar for more than half of Formula 1’s illustrious history, and has seen many a fight on track. Lewis Hamilton defended from teammate Fernando Alonso to get his first taste of F1 victory in 2007, and Robert Kubica redeemed himself with victory in 2008 after suffering a huge crash the year prior.

And who could forget the great wet Canadian Grand Prix of 2011? Jenson Button faced penalties for crashing into his teammate, red flags, dry-wet conditions and six pit stops, but managed to claim victory on the very final tour of the track. It’s a race that will live long in the memory of all interested in Formula 1 – except possible Sebastian Vettel.

The short, high-speed circuit offers a great challenge to the drivers, as was proved in 1999. All three champions on track – Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve – went into the wall at the final chicane. This has since seen the section of track christened the ‘Wall of Champions’, and is an overwhelming challenge for all the drivers.

On the other hand, fans are treated to excellent views of the race with grandstands littering the circuit. After the race, Montreal comes to life as Formula 1 takes over for Grand Prix weekend. Delicious food and awesome views provide the perfect antidote for any post-race blues.

Is F1 general admission worth it Montreal?

We walked the entire race area, but was disappointed to not find any decent viewing areas. For almost $100 per ticket, would not do it again. Pros: You can bring in backpacks with just about anything you want to bring, including beer. Cons: Poor viewing from GA and limited selection of beer on site.
