I have the same problem. When I host a LAN game, I get error: Sorry. You have lost connection to multiplayer services... This annoying problem has existed for more than 2 months. I hope it will be fixed as soon as possible!!!

Is there a fix? Why would it break with a DLC update? Are they planning on fixing it or are they too cheap to fix it?
Yes it does. Create a multiplayer game and go into the settings there is an entire section to choose from from NA-AU-EU-LAN. Also check the store page it literally is listed under LAN Co-op, LAN PVP.
How much longer until you fix this?!?!? Seriously! We've had a number of patches since this problem surfaced, and NONE of them have fixed it!
This has been going on for 3 months now! That's right T H R E E months!

I have spent hours trying to get aoe2 de working between two pcs using either wifi or ethernet to set up a multiplayer game using a local lan server. I have confirmed the pcs can "see" each other by pinging them. I have turned of kaspersky to ensure that that is not causing a problem. But every time I click on "create lobby", having chosen the "Use local lan server" option, after a few seconds the message "Sorry you have lost connection to multiplayer services" comes up. There is no problem playing the original aoe2 or aoe3 as a lan game on these pcs.
Is there anybody out there who has got this working? Or am I just wasting my time trying to make something work that is actually broken?
