My fileserver is currently a crappy Core2Duo E5200. So I've been looking at what other chips I could throw in there to give it a kick, but I'm seeing some Xeon's on eBay which talk about adapters because of 42nm...
Does anyone know what the highest cores & clock I can get for this socket? It's only a little folly so I'd say anything up to like £30-40 on eBay.
The ones I'm seeing on eBay are a little confusing when it comes to the sockets, as many say compatible with 775 but they're actually a 771 or something else.
