Question: Q: VPN and remote desktop soooo slowI have been away fro a couple of weeks and now when trying to connect to my windows computer in the office it is sooooo slow. Yesterday I had 10.5.3 and this was very slow and would drop the connection every 5 mins. Today i upgraded to 15.5.4 and the drops seem to have stopped but the remote desktop connection is driving me crazy. I can type a few letters and they won't appear for sometimes up to 30 seconds. It will work fine for a minute and then same problem again. From home I connected using my PC laptop and there was no problem so either my mac is playing up or our sbs 2003 doesn't like the mac RDC. I am completely new to mac and don't want to revert back but this is driving me crazy. I have to work as well as play. Has anyone had similar problems and can help me with a check list of things to go through? These are all the things that didn't work. On my mac I have connected a network cable in case it was Airport. Remote desktoped to another computer in the office. Check/Unchecked "Send all traffic" on my mac I also connected to the server via RDC without VPN and it worked fine. Configuration - Default Server Address - Correct address Account Nmae - Correct account name Encryption - Automatic (128 bit or 40 bit) TCP/IP Configure IPv4 - Using PPP Configure IPv6 - Automatically DNS DNS Servers - empty Search Domains : I have 2 Nics on our SBS 2003 and here I have the internal IP So it has to be the VPN. Anythings I can try and change to the VPN settings? More Less Jul 7, 2008 10:14 AM Reply Helpful Thread reply - more options
