How to Import a Playlist From a Computer to an iPod Touch

If you created a playlist in another media player and want to import it from your Windows 7 computer to your iPod Touch, you need to use iTunes, the media player from Apple. The iTunes program comes with an import function that enables you to add the playlist to your Library and you can then use the Sync feature to transfer the playlist to the iPod. It should take just a few minutes before you can enjoy the playlist on your portable device.

Launch iTunes on your computer. If you don't have iTunes, download it from the Apple website [see Resources] and install it on your computer.

Click the "File" menu at the top of the iTunes window, select "Library" and click "Import Playlist." The Import window will appear.

Select the playlist file and click "Open" to import it to the iTunes Library.

Connect the iPod Touch to your computer using the USB cable that came with the device. The iTunes program will detect the device and display it in the Devices section in the navigation pane on the left.

Click the "iPod Touch" to view its information in the pane on the right.

Click the "Music" tab at the top of the pane.

Place a check mark in front of the Sync Music option and click the "Selected playlists" radio button.

Place a check mark in front of the playlist you just imported to select it.

Click the "Sync" button to sync the playlist between the computer and the iPod Touch.
