Facebook has a network of billions of users connected on a common platform. You can add your friends from your phone's contact list as well.

To turn contact uploading on or off in the Facebook messenger application on Android, iPhone or iPad, follow these instructions.

To turn contact uploading on and off in the Facebook messenger application on Android:

Step 1: Go to chats.

Step 2: Then, select your profile picture at the top left corner.

Step 3: Go to people.

Step 4: Hit upload contacts to switch the setting on or off.

To turn contact uploading off in the Facebook messenger application on iPhone and iPad:

Note: You cannot turn on contact uploading for iPhone or iPad.

Step 1: Go to chats.

Step 2: Then, select your profile picture at the top left corner.

Step 3: Go to people.

Step 4: Tap on turn off upload contacts.

Step 5: Hit turn off.

On Messenger lite:

Step 1: Go to settings by tapping the settings icon in the top right.

Step 2: Then, hit people.

Step 3: Press sync phone contacts to switch the setting on or off.
