So I am again up with a new blog and of course a new review. The Body Shop Month is still going on and this is my 4th review!
The next three reviews will be for the Tea Tree Oil Range. Let me tell you guys some facts I know about Tea Tree Oil.
Tea tree oil is considered as one of the most essential oils ever in skin care routine. The colour of Tea Tree Oil usually ranges from a pale yellow to even colourless.
Tea Tree Oil is often used to treat acne but it can also be used to reduce the production of extra oils on your face. This means that Tea Tree Oil can help you to control your oily face!
Tea Tree Oil is mainly extracted from Australia. [MY FAV] It is mainly known for its purifying and powerful properties. It is suitable for blemished skin.

During my The Body Shop haul, I wasn’t sure whether I needed this product or not because Shukar Alhamdolillah I don’t have acne marks or blemished skin so I knew this wouldn’t be much useful to me. The day I was supposed to buy all the other stuffs I saw this on sale and hey, sales attract women and I added this in my cart. Oops.
The normal price is 22$ and I got it on a sale, so the discounted price is 16$. I saw this product at the Body Shop outlet here in Pakistan for 1800 RS so there’s very little difference in the price from USA and Pakistan. Phew!
I kept this unopened with me for more than a month. There was an event coming in one week and I somehow had pimple marks over my face so I thought of using this because pimples and acne are almost related. [Not completely]
When you squeeze the product on your hands you will notice that it actually contains a proper scrubbing material. These do look like microbeads but as per The Body Shop website these are in fact volcanic minerals.
Let’s talk about the ingredients.
Perlite is one of the main ingredients in this product which is obtained from a volcanic region. Perlite helps to purify our skin by scrubbing off our impurities by means of gentle exfoliation. It also helps to mattify our skin without leaving a dry effect. IMPRESSIVE!!!
Perlite also helps to open up clogged up pores and helps in decreasing blackheads [to a slight extent].
The benefits of Tea Tree Oil are uncountable and this essential oil is also a major part of The Body Shop Tea Tree Wash Scrub Mask. The Tea Tree Oil in this product helps to clarify and purify our skin leaving no impurities behind.
The 3rd and final major ingredient in Kaolin Clay. It is used to reduce acne in major soaps and face washes, just like it is used in this product! It can also be used as a pigment in cosmetics due to its colour.
Menthol and Limonene are also used in this as refreshing ingredient.
HOW TO USE THE BODY SHOP WASH SCRUB MASK 3 in 1?
As a Wash:
Apply to wet face. Rinse off.
As a Scrub:
Massage gently on wet face. Rinse off.
As a Mask:
1-2 times a week. Apply to face. Leave for 5 mins. Rinse off.
I have used it as all three and found them all to be equally effective for my skin. I don’t have blemishes or acne on my face so I am not sure whether it would actually work on such skin but the ingredients are there for a reason and they are found to be effective.
My pimples disappeared in no less than 2 days and I am very much happy with the results as this product enabled me to finally capture a good selfie without my pimple marks showing up on my face! 😛 And this is why I updated my Facebook DP after one year Hahaha
This product also has salicylic acid which helps to remove outer dirtier layer of skin and also helps in treating acne.
When I applied it on my face, I felt like my skin was getting really cold and its due to the presence of menthol in it.
The packaging of this product is pretty simple. It has a flip top cap on it and is a squeezable bottle. But I wouldn’t say that it can be travel friendly.
The scrub doesn’t feel rough on the skin despite the fact there is a lot of perlite in it. The consistency of this product is thick so it is easy to manage.
NOTE: You might feel a tingling feeling, it’s because of menthol and tea tree oil.
