Kiehls creme de corps review
The Kiehl’s Creme de Corps line is one of their most well know products. Today I will be reviewing two products from their Soy Milk & Honey line: the Body Polish and the Whipped Body Butter. Show Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish What it claims (from Kiehls.ca): This luxurious, creamy formula with Shea and Jojoba Butters and Sweet Almond Oil is blended with ground Luffa Fruit to exfoliate body skin without drying. With the addition of Pure Honey and Soy Milk Protein, our body polish nurtures skin, leaving it comfortably soft, smooth, and primed for moisturization. Price: $28USD/$39CAD from Kiehl’s for 200mL tube Texture/Scent: Smells buttery and coconutty, pretty strong scent that lingers in the shower (but not much longer after that). Texture is like a whipped cream with what feels like ground nuts inside. The good: This body polish smells amazing on its own and when massaged into the skin. It foams up slightly, which means you can use it in place of your body wash. It cleans very well but leaves skin smooth because of all the oils in it. The physical exfoliants do not just dissolve, rather you can rub it in for as long as you want to, but when you want to wash it off, it comes off quickly and easily. You also only need a little bit to lather and spread around.
The bad: The price! This is one of the most expensive body products I’ve ever used. It helps that you only need a little bit, but still…
Overall: Recommended if you have dry skin that needs to be sloughed off once in a while. It doesn’t strip my skin even after a few minutes of rubbing. This really is a luxury! Product: 19/20 Packaging: 4/5 Value: 1/5 Overall: 24/30 | A- Repurchase? Probably not Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter What it claims (from Kiehls.ca): This luxuriously scented cream is light on skin yet rich in 24-hour hydration. This formula is quickly absorbed to deliver deep moisturization with an addictive scent. Price: $35USD/$45CAD from Kiehl’s for 235mL tub Texture/Scent: Smells buttery and coconutty, very very strong, but very very yummy. The scent will linger overnight and even the day after and in your clothes. This is a thick, whipped cream that feels like heaven on skin. The good: It smells AMAZING. The butter is really whipped and airy, but still thick, kind of like clotted cream. It feels amazing to massage into the skin, kind of like spa on the go. It is also super hydrating, which is very important especially during Canadian winters. Moisture is long lasting until you wash it off.
The bad: Again, the price is a turn-off. The USD price is not that bad, but the Canadian price is just unbelievable. I can probably justify buying it in the states, but not sure about buying it here. The smell lingers for too long; I wouldn’t mind it if I lingered just overnight but the scent even transfers onto my clothes…
Overall: This is a really good body butter for the winter if you need the intense moisture (and can afford the high price point). Recommended if you need long lasting moisture. You don’t need a lot of it to cover your body, but it still is a hefty investment. Product: 18/20 Packaging: 4/5 Value: 1/5 Overall: 23/30 | B+ Repurchase? Probably not What about them together? Summary: I love the effect that these two products have on my skin. They make me feel like there is a spa right in my bathroom. My skin feels smooth and hydrated every time I use them and just massaging them into my skin feels luxurious. I love them, but I really can’t justify the high price point. |
